When you are in business – BOTH SIDES should be richer as a result of the transaction.
How you approach business (clients, customers, relationships etc) Makes all the difference.
It is true that business is often measured by the bottom line.
How Much – How many – What was the increase.
and although this typically is measured in financial terms – the FEELING of the transaction is as important as the financials. Let me see if I can explain 🙂
I was recently running a promotion – that I believed in heavily.
I stood behind that product, that opportunity – and put my own name and reputation on the line as if it was my own product or idea. (it wasn't – it was a product created and released by some one else)
Simple: I truly and honestly believed that the product was set to make a massive difference in people's lives.
I felt that BOTH SIDES OF THE TRANSACTION WOULD BE RICHER as a result of the purchase.
Isn't that a great way to do business?
Where no matter which side is giving the money, and which side is receiving it – BOTH sides are richer as a result of that transaction taking place.
The person buying (the customer) was RICHER after paying the money.
in other words – they got MORE VALUE in that transaction, that the financial amount represented.
The Seller (vendor) was also richer – financially, as they had the income from the sale of the product and also – they had another customer, using, enjoying and benefiting from the product – and ultimately to add to the ‘silent' sales force of testimonials and engaged communities.
So what does it take for that RICHER experience on both sides to come to fruition?
First and fore-most – as a seller of products or services, you must passionately believe that your product is of the highest standard. That in purchasing, your customer will receive far more value than the financial amount represents.
2nd You must be able to PRESENT that product in such a way, that your passion and belief is transparently delivered to your customer. (no point having an amazing product if the people that view it – don't see it that way)
and this may mean investing in the presentation of the product with professionally created tools – such as web pages, videos or webinars. Or it could simply mean CRAFTING your delivery of the product message in the BEST possible way you can. Never think that YOUR best – is the best for the market.
I have skills and talents, but one of them is NOT designing and writing out compelling sales copy.
Meaning that – MY BEST version of a website or sales page…. Is not the BEST version possible 🙂
I need to engage other people with higher skill sets on that one.
Check to make sure YOUR best is THE best 🙂
You have an obligation to deliver your product or service in the best possible way – to the widest audience you can. Right?
And FINALLY – you need to find a way to get your message in front of the MOST amount of interested people possible.
This means – you need to STUDY your market.
who are they, and how can you reach them?
You can deliver your message in so many formats these days… Web search, facebook, videos, seminars or even local paper advertising (What???)
The key is here –
that all markets are different. and your customers are not like any one elses.
So what works for one – may not work for another.
You need to STUDY your market.
What do they like, do, engage with?
And then aggressively work towards getting your message in front of as many of them as you can.
